I have re-visited my paperback book sculptures this year (2023) from our balcony/workshop/studio in the forest on the Atherton Tablelands among the birds and pademelons. It’s a perfect place to make work and get very dusty..
Nucleus is the first completed sculpture of a four that I am working on this year.. the end of the book happen to have a little nuclear symbol printed on the last page, I thought this was an apt title and relative to the physicality of the sculpted book.
I’ve built individual timber shelves for these works and had perspex covers made locally, they sit nicely over the top protecting them from dust and insects.
